McAllister to start for Clippers on Thursday

Cleveland Indianspitcher Zach McAllister will start Thursday for the Clippers in Lehigh Valley on a major league rehab assignment in the team's first game following the Triple-A All-Star break.

McAllister currently is on the disabled list with a ligament strain in his right middle finger. He has a 4-5 record with a 3.43 earned run average for the Indians this season and last pitched for Cleveland on June 2.

After McAllister reaches a set pitch count, Danny Salazar will follow himr to the mound.

The Indians come out of the Major League All-Star break on Friday and havehave an opening in their startingrotation Tuesday in Seattle. The pairing in Lehigh Valley will set up McAllister or Salazar to take that game.
