Salazar reaches pitch limit in fifth
Clippers starter Danny Salazar left tonight's game against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders after the fifth inning with a 4-2 lead.
Salazar (right triceps) was activated from the disabled list prior to the start of the game and with a pitch limit of 75. He was at 69 after the fifth inning and reliever Scott Barnes replaced him in the sixth.
Salazar allowed four hits and two runs, including a solohome run to Corban Joseph in the third inning on a first-pitch fastball. He had four strikeouts, three of the swing-and-miss variety. Those three were all recorded on off-speed pitches. His fastball topped out at 97 mph.
