Hey "Seinfeld" fans, have your money ready, pick the soup you want and move to the extreme left after ordering: The Soup Nazi is coming to Columbus.
The Original SoupMan’s first Ohio franchise is slated to open early next year in the Shoppes at 5th Avenue, a new retail center near Grandview. The chain was started in New York by Al Yeganeh, the real-life chef immortalized as the sitcom’s Soup Nazi.
Yeganeh really plays up the "Seinfeld" connection and his character’s reputation as a persnickety perfectionist. Check out the website at originalsoupman.com—the dude even looks like the Soup Nazi (although without a mustache).
The menu promises a changing selection of soups everyday based on market availability, including a variety of spicy chilis (turkey, beef, chicken, sausage, mushroom), seafood bisques, vegetarian bean soups, gumbo, goulash and even chilled soups in season.
