It seems last night's Charlie Brown special was just a primer for tonight, when the networks are jamming the 8 o'clock hour with holiday specials. ABC offers half-hours new and old, starting with the premiere of the critically approved Shrek The Halls and finishing out the hour with the classic Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Over at NBC, they've got more adult (and likely more mundane) fare: Christmas at Rockefeller Center.

On stage, consider Bruce in the USA, a Chicago-based Springsteen cover band that comes approved by Earwig's Lizard McGee. I'm told Matt Ryan and his band sound just like the real Boss and his E Street cohorts, and Ryan certainly looks the part. I'm usually against these tribute bands, but c'mon, this should be a lot of fun. Doors open at 7 and tickets are $12 at Newport Music Hall.

OK, with all that said, this isn't the best night for entertainment. There's always Project Runway (10 p.m., Bravo).

EDIT: I've got a last-minute addition that trumps all this other stuff. If you want to make good use of your night, check out the Wexner Center's screening of The Devil Came On Horseback, a documentary about Darfur. It costs $7 and starts at 7 p.m. sharp. For more info, click here.
