After yesterday's dull schedule, tonight's entertainment slate is hopping once again.

Kick off your night at one of two fun happy hour gatherings. Columbus Underground is hosting its monthly meetup at Oldfield's on High this time around.

Meanwhile, Tip Top Kitchen & Cocktails is kicking off a new monthly event called Pat Radio Happy Hour, hosted by the podcasting wonder Pat Leonard. Leonard's DJ set at the bar will stream live around the world from patradio.org. CD, gift certificate and T-shirt giveaways will also go down. The event is to raise awareness for Simply Living, whose new WCRS is broadcasting at 98.3 and 102.1 FM locally.

The biggest rock show of the night is a visit from Cold War Kids, who are indie-huge despite having one of the worst singers of all time. Joining them at the Newport will be Fiction Plane. Doors open at 7 for this $5 CD101 Low Dough Show.

There is a ton of interesting TV happening as well:

•Get double your Justin Timberlake dosage with his appearances in Barbara Walters' "10 Most Fascinating People of 2007" special (10 p.m., ABC) and the 'N Sync edition of Biography (9 p.m., Biography).

•Bravo is throwing a Top Chef Holiday Special at 9 p.m., featuring contestants from all three seasons cooking seasonal dishes for the chance to win $20,000.

•CNN is hosting its first ever awards show, CNN Heroes, at 9 p.m. LL Cool J is among the presenters (but he was too cool to show up to his appearance in Dublin, even with me waiting for him).

•Sand and Sorrow, a Darfur documentary from director Paul Freedman, airs at 9 p.m. on HBO. Buzz suggests it's must-see TV.

•If you're into that sort of thing, ER (10 p.m., NBC) is airing its 300th episode tonight.

Plus, you know, 30 Rock (8:30 p.m., NBC) is still on for a couple more weeks.
