There's no question where I'll be tonight at 9: In front of the TV, tuned to ABC, soaking in the first episode of the fourth season of Lost. Scroll down to today's Lunch Break Links for everything you could want to get ready for tonight's premiere.
You could always DVR that, though, in order to make it out to one of two great shows happening on High Street tonight.
Runner up in this sweepstakes goes to the Night of 1,000 Eves at Surly Girl Saloon, 1126 N. High St. The lovely and talented Eve Searls will perform in all three acts, including her solo venture Bird and Flower, drum machine-powered indie pop combo The Polyatomic and a new project called Super Desserts featuring members of Terribly Empty Pockets, Beard of Stars and, yes, Eve S. This show is free and is likely to begin right around 10 p.m.
That would be enough to win out on most weeknights, but top billing on this final evening in January goes to Six Organs of Admittance at Ravari Room, 2657 N. High St. The spooky acoustic project of Ben Chasny, who you may know from Comets on Fire, should put on a show to remember, especially with support from the Dirty Three's Mick Turner and local instrumental gods Brainbow. (They're set to begin at 9:30 p.m. sharp, hence the need for DVR.) This will cost $10 at the door. Check Wes Flexner's preview for more, and be sure to check out this video for a taste of what to expect from Six Organs tonight:
