Tonight HBO premieres a new nightly series called In Treatment, in which a therapist played by Gabriel Byrne treats a different patient each night of the week, then sees his own shrink on Fridays. Sounds quite enticing. That kicks off at 9:30 p.m., right after a re-run of the Flight of the Conchords pilot at 9 (huzzah!).
Meanwhile, the fourth season of Making the Band begins tonight at 10 on MTV. This time, Diddy intermingles the winners of previous seasons as all three work on new albums. The CW has a 90-minute special edition of the Gossip Girl pilot at 8 p.m.
And of course there's the State of the Union address on all the major networks and news channels. Tune in at 8 p.m. for that.
If you're looking for some metal, LC Pavilion has it. Dillinger Escape Plan comes to town on a bill headlined by Killswitch Engage and also featurning Every Time I Die and Parkway Drive. I've always been partial to The Dismemberment Plan myself, but the Dillinger Escape variety will do the trick tonight if you feel like dropping $28. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for that thang.
