This is one of those nights when I just want to stay home and sleep, and it looks like the music and TV fates have aligned for just such an evening. I can't find any musical performances that I want to endorse*, (though DJ Powerkraut's new record-spinning night could be good), so mostly it's up to the small screen to make the What To Do Tonight feature work for today. Unfortunately, the biggest programming note of the night is the now-despicable Nip/Tuck (10 p.m., FX), which thankfully is going away for a while after tonight's season finale, and thank God for that. Even Nova: Ape Genius (8 p.m., PBS) would be better!

Guess there's always American Idol (8 p.m., FOX).

(You should probably just start watching The Wire. The entire Season 1 DVD set is $2.50 a night at North Campus Video, 2465 N. High St. Just saying.)

*UPDATE: Oh, duh. Greenlawn Abbey, You're So Bossy (no MySpace still, damn it) and Outer Spacist at Skully's, 1151 N. High St. Free. Unbeatable.
