A surprising amount of people I know are intense devotees of Third Eye Blind, and those people are no doubt anxiously awaiting the band's appearance tonight at LC Pavilion. This might be fun if they had more than three good songs and it didn't cost $26 to get in. A band called Absentstar opens the show after doors open at 7 p.m. Doot doot doot.

There's a show next door at The Basement as well. I don't know if any band has played that club more than Matt Pond PA, the straightlaced, OC-friendly indie rockers who return tonight. Doors open at 7 for this one too, with tickets going for $12. Gran Bel Fisher, from the (tiny?) town of Sabina, Ohio, kicks off the night.

On TV, Secret Talents of the Stars (10 p.m., CBS) is a new celebreality show with a few stars that actually still have some cultural currency (George Takei is Heroes chic, right?). The Riches (10 p.m., FX) continues its implausible fun. Boston Legal (10 p.m., ABC) and NCIS (8 p.m., CBS) return to the air. And for a sober but highly important experience, tune to HBO at 10 p.m. for a film called The Greatest Silence: Rape In the Congo.
