The Thursday TV schedule continues to be a goldmine, with The Office (9 p.m., NBC), 30 Rock (9:30 p.m., NBC), Lost (10 p.m., ABC) and more dotting the schedule. But you have a DVR, right? Or at least a VCR. You're reading this right now... certainly you have computer access? That means you can watch these programs later and catch one of two awesome rock concerts tonight.
The Basement, 391 Neil Ave., hosts Dead Meadow, the DC power trio that's ready to send your head drifting off into cocentric circles of psychedelic bliss. Check my preview for more, and be sure to get there early for locals The Main Street Gospel and TV Eye, an especially appropriate pair of openers. Doors open at 8 p.m.; tickets cost $10.
Over at Ravari Room, 2657 N. High St., metal reigns. Toxic Holocaust, described by promoter Chris Wood as "speed, punk, thrash, death, filth and sleeze," headline a night that also includes Children (featuring Adam Bennati of Early Man), Midnight (Jamie from Boulder) and the unveling of Nukkehammer (featuring dudes from Teeth of the Hydra & Black Dove). Should be sufficiently awesome. Doors open at 9 p.m. Cover remains TBA.
