White Album

I know a fair amount of people who don't like to go to Bernie's, 1896 N. High St., either because they think it is filthy or because they feel like they've outgrown the place after spending many a night there as a young punk. But there are several good reasons to hit up the venerable basement bar this evening. Consider:

•Nothing good is on TV, unless you consider Flipping Out (10 p.m., Bravo) and America's Got Talent (9 p.m., NBC) good. And I certainly don't.

•The Mark Kozelek show in Pittsburgh is canceled. (There goes my road trip!)

•OK, so AFI's 10 Top 10 (8 p.m., CBS) and Deadliest Catch (9 p.m., Discovery) might be pretty good. BUT...

•White Album, a scruffy young bunch of rockers in the Nirvana/Dinosaur Jr vein, is playing at Bernie's tonight. They started out a couple years ago in Athens (where I used to run a music website with one of them—conflict of interest alert!). Now the provocatively named bunch has migrated to Columbus, where Bernie's is a perfect place for them to ply their wares. So go relive your youth (or live it for the first time) with them tonight.

•Or, you know, NBA Finals (9 p.m., ABC). Whatevs.
