I would be remiss not to repost this footage of WBNS-TV's coverage of a 1985 Cocteau Twins concert at the Newport. The band stopped in Columbus for one of its five U.S. tour dates that year, and 10TV considered that feat rather newsworthy, so they sent reporter Tom Berman to the scene. It's alternately amusing and amazing. (Check out those killer ripped jeans on Curt Scheiber!) Thanks to strummy for the hookup.

Prominently featured in the video is Tim Anstaett, who published the legendary Columbus zine The Offense in the '80s. Check out Pat Radio's recent interview with Anstaett, along with classic Columbus tracks and rare bootlegs of acts such as Pixies, The Fall and Nick Cave, here.
