Since the Crew already played last night (and dominated), the most massive event of the weekend without question is Independents Day, a day-long Downtown celebration of independent music, art and culture organized by the Couchfire Collective and other affiliated parties. The city will shut down Gay Street and Pearl Alley for the whole day as bands perform, artists exhibit, speakers present and all experience some of the best creative culture Columbus has to offer. The jam-packed schedule speaks for itself. Check out Alive's feature on the event for more details, then roll down there at a time of your choosing. Music starts at noon and runs until the end of the night. I'll be around most of the day, including a short bartending stint at Alive's afterparty at The Vault. See you there.
