Catbird Records is offering one of 2007's best albums, Moviola's Dead Knowledge, as a free download this week. Last year I called it "a showcase for Moviola's graceful maturation, a rich, beautiful collection of understated tunes that demand and reward attentive ears." (Read the full feature here.)

That's right, you can download this fine LP for free right here, this week only.

In other Moviola news, the gentlemen will be taking the stage at 10 p.m. Friday at Surly Girl Saloon, 1126 N. High St. Also appearing: New York's D. Charles Speer and the Helix, "comprised of folks formerly from the No Neck Blues Band and Sunburned Hand of the Man, who lay down a fuzz-faced, high lonesome groove," per Moviola's Jerry Dannemiller. "The show is free. The time will be a good one."
