The only thing that was more of a foregone conclusion than Sigi Schmid's departure from the Columbus Crew was that Robert Warzycha would succeed him as head coach. The Crew made that transition official today, naming "The Polish Rifle" the fifth head coach in club history. Warzycha, who joined the Crew a few months into its inaugural season in 1996 and racked up a team-record 61 assists until his 2002 retirement. He has been an assistant since then and served as interim coach after Greg Andrulis was dismissed during the 2005 season. Read more at The Dispatch.
