New Bomb Turks

Tonight and tomorrow offer several hearty options for to feed your appetite for live music. First, your Friday fare:

•New Bomb Turks/Scrawl at The Summit, 2210 Summit St. So much Columbus rock history in one place. Stop by Used Kids before 8 p.m. for a ticket if you don't want to risk getting shut out. Music will probably start around 11 p.m.

•Of course, you could always stumble next door (Cafe Bourbon Street, 2216 Summit St.) for the Terrible Twos/Guinea Worms/We March show. That's as fine a lineup of Midwestern weird punk as you'll find anywhere.

•And of course Athens' rustic indie rockers Southeast Engine will be celebrating their new Misra Records release From the Forest to the Sea at The Treehouse, 887 Chambers Rd. The Coke Dares, The Kyle Sowashes and Frontier Ruckus will be in tow as well. This one costs $6 and starts at 10 p.m. sharp. (Check my feature on this!)

What about Saturday picks?

•Tops is the bizarro folk pop lineup of The Black Swans, RTFO Bandwagon and Super Desserts at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St. 10 p.m./$5.

•But a close second would be the "Battle of the Bs" featuring The Bygones, Bookmobile and (Miranda Sound offshoot) Bicentennial Bear at Ravari Room, 2657 N. High St. This slew of Columbus rock veterans will perform at 10 p.m. for $5 almost certainly.

•Also worth noting: Newly featured garage rockers Chelsea Automatic at the Scarlet & Grey Cafe, 2203 N. High St.
