Artist: Bird and Flower Song: "Jump Out of the Way"

I've been meaning to repost this new video from Bird and Flower, the solo project from Super Desserts chanteuse-in-residence Eve Searls. Tonight's show at Wholly Craft (starting promptly at 7 p.m.) seems like as good a reason as any.

When Searls debuted this project some two years back, her MySpace boasted a bunch of solo acoustic jams. But with her debut album on the way, the shy, sly songwriter seems to have developed a fancy for light, airy indie pop set to minimalist electronic beats. Check the boom-bap/banjo combo of her "That's the Ticket" demo or the Blow-reminiscent "Hot Boots." Or just click play on the above clip for "Jump Out of the Way."

Directed by Heavy Mole's Sam Craighead, the video finds Searls horsing around at a pickup football game with various local indie rock luminaries. The song is even cuter, buoyed by a wordless chorus that adds just the right of vulnerability to the twee facade.
