Two shows worth checking out this Monday:

•Retro pop dudes Dr. Dog will be at The Basement, 391 Neil Ave. I didn't dig their latest, Fate, at first, but as you can tell from my preview, I have warmed up to it some. Golden Boots and Pretty Girls Make Graves offshoot The Cave Singers will open up shortly after the doors open up at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12, but this is sold out, so you'll have to find a scalper if you want to go.

•Or you could just check out The Brew instead. These guys claim to be genre-jumpers in their bio at the BenCo site, but based on a cursory listen, they sound as straightforward as music comes. Andrew Ripp will play first. Doors open at 8 p.m., and admission is $10 at the door.

And if you were planning to see Crocodiles at Cafe Bourbon Street, that show has been canceled.
