Guillermo Barros Schelotto

This is one of those nights when, regardless of whether there's a good band in town or not (there's not), I prefer to focus on that lifelong source of entertainment, sorrow, elation and frustration, the Columbus Crew. The defending MLS Cup champs are in action tonight at Crew Stadium, and while they'll face the lowly San Jose Earthquakes. This is the club's best chance yet to break out of the season-opening slump that has seen them surrender a bevy of late leads and left them in last place in the East. They'll have to do it without their captain, Frankie Hejduk, who will sit out with a left groin tear. They will, however, have reigning MVP Guillermo Barros Schelotto (pictured), who has tallied five goals so far this season and is loving his time in Columbus per the latest Dispatch feature. What's more, it's Buck-a-Brat night. See you there at 7:30 for kickoff.
