It's pretty unusual for a band to play with cooing hippie folk crew Iron & Wine one night and abrasive shock rockers The Unholy Two another, but that's exactly what Disappears is doing. The Chicago post-punk combo is pleasing to my ears think El Jesus de Magico with sharper edges and more of a pop pedigree and they'll be at Cafe Bourbon Street, 2216 Summit St., tonight. Speaking of El Jesus, that band has birthed a new offshoot called Prison Mirror that will be gracing the stage tonight, as will The Unholy Two. 10 p.m., 5 bucks.
