Artist: Rollo Song: "Daymon's Song"

Jason Roxas used to play bass and keyboards for Psychedelic Horseshit, but when personality and lifestyle conflicts forced him out of that band, he started writing some songs of his own. One of the best is "Daymon's Song," a tribute to late Columbus music icon Daymon Dodson. Roxas pays homage with a purposefully plodding sway built on Gen-X guitar patterns post-Pixies pop, if you will, with a healthy hint of Sonic Youth between the fizz. The track is available on a promo CD inside Rollo's new special edition 7-inch, which is being released Saturday at Carabar, 115 Parsons Ave., with help from El Jesus de Magico and Struck by Lightning.
