For a long time, Kelly Clarkson's claim as the most successful American Idol contestant was undisputed. After Clarkson's debut scored a hit with "Miss Independent," sophomore effort Breakaway was one of the best pop albums of the decade, boasting several of modern radio's most enduring singles, including the spectacular "Since U Been Gone." But just as Clarkson's ill-conceived My December entered the pop marketplace as a relative flop, along came Carrie Underwood to arguably eclipse good old Kelly.
But Clarkson is a resilient gal, and "My Life Would Suck Without You" put her back in pop culture's good graces. Of course, she's still not too big for the fair circuit, which winds into the Celeste Center tonight at 7 for the price of $36. Eric Hutchinson will open the show.
