There are better songs on Brian Eno's 1974 masterpiece, Taking Tiger Mountain (By Strategy), yet none more interesting. This track is the bridge from the art-pop that came before and the ambient experiments that arose later, largely with the musician's next album. "Taking Tiger Mountain" has all the best features of both genres Eno helped invent, expand and popularize. Melody, organic feel and guitars on one hand; wispy riffs, cascading layers and circular structure on the other.
