Artist: Obviouslies Song: "Instead of Waiting"

Obviouslies began as a partnership between Nick Schuld, late of The Rackets and tons of other Columbus rock bands of the previous two decades, and "Fifi La Douche," whose credentials I don't know beyond the fact that she regularly performs at Ravari Room karaoke. Since their grand MySpace debut a few weeks back, they've added two more members to better recreate their lo-fi pop-rock nuggets on stage. "Instead of Waiting" finds them sounding not unlike a female-fronted version of righteously-influenced breakout band The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, only Obviouslies' spin on the half-melody, half-feedback formula is more poppy, less artsy than some of their blog-beloved contemporaries. Tonight they play Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St., alongside The Patsys and Athens' Dragline Brothers.
