It's a busy Tuesday in the world of Columbus music, topped by a last-minute appearance from Brooklyn's Woods at Cafe Bourbon Street, 2216 Summit St. The highly talented meek freaks already have played next door at The Summit twice this year as an opening act, but they'll headline tonight after performances from Blastronauts, who are about to release a fine new EP, and Love Culture, whose path has yet to cross with mine. (Tonight's the night?) BenCo says 8 p.m. start, but don't be surprised if you end up waiting around for quite a while if you show up that early. Tickets cost $7.
An equally enticing show is set for The Treehouse, 887 Chambers Rd. Pomegranates, one of two white hot Cincinnati indie rock acts coming to town this week, will bring their infinitely likable effervescent pop to the tree room alongside highly pleasant guitar/electronics blenders Phantogram and local epic narrative architects Wing & Tusk, who are in the third week of a month-long residency at the bar. Doors open at 9 p.m., and tickets cost $8.
There are also solid noise and metal shows hap'nin for free, so don't sleep on those (and I promise you, if you attend these proudly loud get-togethers, sleep won't be a realistic option).
