Richard Rosendale has closed his three restaurants in the Short North, citing a decline in sales, the Columbus Dispatch reported. He has been away from the restaurants for several weeks, having returned to the Greenbrier resort in West Virginia as executive chef.

He opened Rosendale's Restaurant at 793 N. High St. in March 2007 after four years as chef de cuisine at the Greenbrier. In late 2008, he added a small-plates restaurant, Details, next door. This past spring, because of the recession, he split the original restaurant into a lower-priced Rosendale's Modern Bistro and the upscale Rosendale's Upstairs.
