The Unholy Two
There's lots of live music happening this weekend as usual. Some of the more notable options:
Used Kids, 1980 N. High St., is finishing up their week-long run of in-store performances with a day-long fest Saturday featuring Lightning Path, Bird and Flower, Jam Division, Fey Gods, Psychedelic Horseshit, American Jobs, The Unholy Two, Necropolis and Envelope, in that order, from about 1-8 p.m. Free show, great bands, probably free pizza(?) and 20 percent off used records.
Later that night, Black Keys disciples Hotel War are releasing a new EP at Skully's alongside The Lost Revival, Scott Neff and this week's Locals Only profile, The George Elliot Underground. 10 p.m. show, $5 cover.
Afortiori is throwing a release party too at A&R Music Bar, 391 Neil Ave. (formerly the House of Crave). St. Moses the Black sweetens the deal, as do Couch Forts, some band called Christ, touring act Slow Claw and Joe Camerlengo from This Is My Suitcase. Quite the extravaganza. This costs $5, starts at 7 p.m. and goes all night.
The TV Ghost show at The Summit, 2210 Summit St., should rule. Check my blurb. Guinea Worms and Flu Faker support.
Your Sunday special is back at The Summit, where Sunset Rubdown will take you down the rabbit hole. I previewed that one as well. NewVillager opens. This one costs $8 advance and $10 at the door, which opens at 8 p.m.
