Both Miley Cyrus and Hanson are in town tonight at Nationwide Arena and Newport Music Hall, respectively. Good luck getting a Miley ticket (if that's your sort of thing), but $25 ought to score you a trip to see Zac, Taylor and Isaac, who've made quite the career for themselves post-"MMMBop." (Joining Miley will be Metro Station, realizing their teeny-bopper destiny; Hanson plays after Hellogoodbye, Steel Train and Sherwood.)
Some shows with a bit less rockist stigma attached (not that they're any more respectable than the gigs listed above):
Sea Wolf, an Arcade Fire/Elliott Smith hybrid from the West Coast, will play the Wexner Center, 1871 N. High St., with indie-folk brethren Port O'Brien opening at 9 p.m. sharp. Tickets cost $9. This is in the Performance Space, so head past the Mershon doors and toward the entrance near the Oval. A few more details in my brief preview.
The Basement, 391 Neil Ave., is hosting a similar show headlined by Australian Smiths disciples Youth Group. Digging their opening MySpace track "All This Will Pass" this morning. Other Girls and Six Gallery will open this $12 show starting shortly after 7 p.m.
