Bob Dylan

Three Tuesday shows of varying degrees of interest:

Bob Dylan and His Band will be at LC Pavilion, 405 Neil Ave. As indicated in the preview, unless you like your arrangements unrecognizable and your melodies replaced by godawful croaks, this may not live up to expectations. But Bob is full of surprises, so who knows? Maybe your $47.50 will be worth it. No cameras are allowed inside. Doors open at 7 p.m. No opening act.

Over at Newport Music Hall, 1722 N. High St., The Whigs will be playing one of those CD101 "Low Dough Shows" for a mere $5. Check my preview for some quick thoughts on these Athens rockers that split the difference between rootsy rumble and pop pleasure. The Dead Trees and The Features will also perform. Doors open at 7 p.m.

Lastly, those reliably plucky Couch Forts and recliner-comfortable folk rockers Old Hundred will play The Treehouse, 887 Chambers Rd., with Asthmatic Kitty recording artist Jookabox, who recently had the featured MP3 on Stereogum's weekly "Gum Drop" newsletter. Jookabox's new Dead Zone Boys is out today.
