As legend goes, the Patterson brothers (late of Chuck's Junk) discovered Jenny Lute after she slayed some Beyonce at karaoke night. The music they've concocted since joining forces isn't quite so slick, but it's just as soulful. The Wet Darlings is more alt-rock outfit than R&B group, yet Lute's powerful pipes ensure things stay a bit smoky.

Tonight the songstress will be without her backing band when she plays Jason Quicksall's Cowtown Round at Rumba Cafe, 2507 Summit St. The full ensemble will be back in action Saturday at Ruby Tuesday, 1978 Summit St., where they'll join Jordan DePaul & The Reputations for a Valentine's show.
