I feel like Gordon Biersch is easy to overlook, because itís a chain, and because itís kind of hidden in an alley in the midst of the Arena District. I admit, I rarely think about the place unless Iím going to a hockey game. But I like it, and every time Iím there Iím reminded how good the beer is.
So hereís a reason to visit even before the Blue Jackets hit the ice next month: On Sept. 14 Gordon Biersch is rolling out an Oktoberfest-themed menu, with German fare you can wash down with a pint or two of Festbier lager.
This pic shows the Festbier Combo: grilled bratwurst, knackwurst and Hungarian sausages, pretzel sticks and Gordon Biersch garlic fries, accompanied by signature beer mustards. Looks good to me, but the seasonal menu and beer is only on tap until Oct. 24.
