After I first saw James Franco in the Spiderman franchise--I didn't catch up with "Freaks and Geeks" until long after it was canceled--I kind of wrote him off as merely serviceable. But, his comedic work in "Pineapple Express" and amazing performance in "Milk" made me do a complete 180.

Recently, Franco has published a collection of short stories, guest starred on a soap opera, opened his own art exhibit and is now releasing his directorial debut with "Saturday Night." The documentary, chronicling the making of a "Saturday Night Live" episode, premiered at SXSW and will hit theaters in 2011.

Also, Franco stars as Alan Ginsberg in the upcoming bio-pic, "Howl." It's got a great cast and the trailer made me excited to see it. Check it out below.
