As the staff's resident Nine Inch Nails fan, I was thrilled at chatter a few years ago that a cable series based on the dystopian future world of Nine Inch Nails' "Year Zero" album was in the works ... then nothing ever came of it.
Well, apparently, it's a step closer to reality, with Reznor reporting the show is in the pre-production stages. "“It’s exciting. I probably shouldn’t say too much about it except that I understand that there’s a thousand hurdles before anything shows up in your TV listing." More from the L.A. Times here.
I loved the album and the accompanying alternate reality game tied to its release. So I'm excited even at the possibility of this.
In other Reznor news, Trent and collaborator Atticus Ross did the score for David Fincher's anticipated "The Social Network." You can download a free 5-track sampler from the score here.
