It's that time of year again when everybody starts rolling out top 10 lists. Even though it's completely arbitrary, it's still fun to see what other critics (and horror novelists) think were the best shows of the year. Iíll have my top 10 list up later this week.

EW hasn't released TV critic Ken Tucker's list online yet, but he appropriately (hint, hint) put "Breaking Bad" at the top of the heap. And, if you want possibly the worst top 10 TV list of the year, check out Stephen King's list at EW, too.

Why King has "Morning Joe," "The Event," "SpongeBob Squarepants" and "Sons of Anarachy"--a season seen as widely disappointing by most critics, including myself--on his list is far beyond my rationale. Although, he did guest star on "Sons," so that may have something to do with it.

A far more reasonable, and comprehensive, list is also up on AV Club. Even though their list differs from mine, I particularly liked the top 5. It was also nice to see Starz's "Party Down" get some top 10 love. I haven't had a chance to catch up with its second (and final) season, so it wasn't on my list...something I may regret.

There's also AOL critic Maureen Ryan's list here. She's a dogged TV reporter and her list reflects it, even if she took the easy way out by not ranking them 1 through 10. I forgive her, it is very difficult. You should also check out the list by Ryan McGee, her podcast partner. I love his ballsy choice for the number one slot.

Finally, Zap 2 It has a list of TV's guiltiest pleasures this year. Thankfully, there's no "Housewives of wherever" and "Sarah Palin's Alaska." Plus, I gotta find out more about "Bitchin' Kitchen."
