J.J. Abrams Bad Robot production company is already working on the sci-fi series "Alcatraz" for Fox, a series reuniting "Lost" alums Michael Emerson and Terry O'Quinn and now he's shopping a script for a "heightened reality" crime drama called "Pulp."

If you think this sounds a lot like a little film called "Pulp Fiction," you're not alone. I think it sounds like a complete rip-off and titling the series "Pulp" makes me want to sign up for Twitter just so I can read what 140-character venom Quentin Tarantino will spit.

Also, NBC has ordered its first pilot of 2011, a drama about Playboy bunnies set in the 1960's at the famous New York City nightclub. This could be an interesting series on cable--or most appropriately HBO--crafting a "Mad Men" style only with female leads. But, on NBC, I fear "Playboy" won't be very edgy. I predict "Las Vegas" set in the 1960s.
