Remember the violent storm that tore through Columbus on June 4? Artists who were exhibiting at the Columbus Arts Festival certainly do; the storm destroyed 32 artist tents, and 14 artists lost so much work they were unable to show at the festival the following day.
Fellow artists and other good-hearted folks in Columbus and beyond got together and raised thousands of dollars to help those who lost irreplaceable work in the storm.
A panel just disbursed more than $8,600 to affected artists through the artist relief fund. With the money, artists will be able to buy new tents and displays so they can show their work for the rest of the season.
