Those of us who think Edamame Sushi + Grill is pure eye candy are in good company. The Columbus design firm behind the restaurant's look just won a Jury Honorable Mention award in an American Institute of Architects contest.

Bass Studio Architects designed the space that evokes the colors of sushi -- white rice, green wasabi, blond pickled ginger. Once inside, you're likely to forget you're in an anonymous strip mall. What must have started as a cavernous raw space makes arresting use of color, material and light. Perhaps the most delightful feature of the design: Two mezzanine-level boxes at either end of the restaurant for those who want to see and be seen.
