1) Mad4Mod has closed its Clintonville location and opened a pop-up shop in the Short North at 972 N. High St. Despite having spent almost 10 years in the Clintonville space, owner Jason Koenig calls the move a homecoming; the vintage store first opened in the Short North's Yukon Building in 2001.
The new location is temporary. Koenig said Mad4Mod will be there until the middle of January but that they are shopping for a permanant address in the 700 block of High Street. Mad4Mod's hours are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
Stop by during Gallery Hop (they'll be open as late as the crowds are out) to see "a little more refined selection" in comparison to the former space, Koenig said. "It's a smaller space. There are seasonal items here like coats, jackets, dresses. We have furniture and accessories. Men's items as well."
2) Grandview's CoCo Couture (which has a scrumptious new lineup of inexpensive vintage leather jackets) is hosting an afternoon trunk show and toy drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday at The Rossi Bar & Kitchen (895 N. High St.). Go to shop deals from CoCo and Black Rose Boutique. Donations of toys and clothing items will be accepted at the event, too, for local nonprofit Kasey's Gift.
