The ex-Saprissa striker scored 45 goals over the past five seasons.

In the wake of all this (rightful) hubbub about Frankie Hejduk's new role in the front office, it's good to see the Crew is making some big acquisitions on the player front as well. The club announced today that they've signed Costa Rican forward Jairo Arrieta, who will join Columbus when the June 27 transfer window opens. The former Saprissa striker (the Crew's second ex-Saprissa signing this year) scored 45 goals over the past five seasons, which bodes well for the Crew's anemic offense. Might this be the genuine sniper Columbus has long been lacking?
