Check out this short video making the Internet rounds by famous New York fashion photographer Steven Sebring. The 16 mm film stars art world heavyweight Patti Smith creating a free form poem on a designer bag and its packaging (the purse is called Boxer and is by designer Reed Krakoff, formerly of Coach). It is set to music by Smith's daughter and a spoken word piece by artist Jack Walls that pays homage to boxer Joe "Smokin' Joe" Frazier. "Sometimes a fight can be a blood bath/ Kiss the mat, man/ Go the distance, man/ Sometimes a fight can be a blood bath." I love when fashion and sport and poetry collide.
