Mind Twin Media presents "Outside Looking In," a look at the iconic Ohio DIY musician.

Columbus film company Mind Twin Media is working on a documentary about Mike "Rep" Hummel, a figure whose influence has loomed over underground rock in Ohio and worldwide since the 70s.

Back in the day, he had a hand in projects like The Quotas, The True Believers and Ego Summit; more recently he lent his sound and influence to the likes of Times New Viking, Mount Carmel and Mors Ontologica and worked as a sort of spiritual mentor for the Columbus Discount Records crew. When Columbus shitgaze bands like TNV, Psychedelic Horseshit and Pink Reason were congesting SXSW in 2008, Rep was there too, covering "Sugar Sugar" with TNV as his backing band and inspiring Thurston Moore to bow in awestruck admiration.

Looking forward to seeing what Mind Twin's Mike Newman comes up with.
