If you aren't going to see the LCD Soundsystem concert film "Shut Up and Play the Hits," maybe Gateway Film Center's screening of "Cure For Pain: The Mark Sandman Story" is up your alley. Sandman, the brooding, brilliant frontman for Boston band Morphine, collapsed on stage in Italy in 1999 and was pronounced dead of a heart attack.
Part of the Gateway's Rockin' and Reelin' series, the film screens at 8 tonight, preceded by a happy hour at 7. CD102.5's Brian Phillips and Watershed's Colin Gawel will introduce the film and host the event. All proceeds from the $5 tickets will be donated to CD101 For the Kids.
