Listen: Karate Coyote - "Cat-O-Pillar"

Karate Coyote has always conjured the essence of various pop-minded indie collectives while doing their own thing, and they've continued that trend with the sugar-rush guitar pop that is new single "Cat-O-Pillar." The band amped up the New Pornographers quotient, with traces of everyone from Dirty Projectors to B-52s in the mix, topped off with neon synths straight out of Wilco's "I'm Not In Love."

"Cat-O-Pillar" is the first single from the band's self-titled sophomore album, coming out Sept. 28 with a release show at Skully's. It's embedded below for your enjoyment. Also, KC plays Kobo tonight with excellent Pittsburgh band Donora.
