Painted Bird Premiere at Wexner Center for the Arts from Palissimo on Vimeo.

Even if the Electric Slide eludes you, here's your chance to take the Wex stage.

Palissimo is a dance theater company from New York.  As a part of its Wexner Center Residency, Palissimo will present its dance "Painted Bird Trilogy" as a whole for the first time. The first sequence of the trilogy is called "Bastard." It follows a boy in wartime Europe who watches a beautiful bird be killed by its own flock. A portion of the piece features volunteer dancers from the Columbus public. Volunteers can say they danced the same stage as award-winning Slovak dancer Jaroslav Vinarsky.

Interested? Yeah you are. The team is particularly hard pressed to find male volunteers, so put on your dancing shoes, boys. Interested volunteers should contact Sarah Swinford at sswinford@wexarts.org or at 614-292-6190.

Rehearsal times for volunteers are as follows: 1-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, and 7-10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 10. Performance call times for volunteers are as follows: 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, and 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16.
