Columbus producer teams with Orlando dubstep duo to prove the EDM renaissance can't be reduced to big dumb onomatopoeia.

Columbus music maker and party rocker Self Help keeps pushing his productions into freaky new directions, which makes his new "Spine Waves" EP with Orlando's intelligent dubstep duo Banditz one of the finest collections of digitized sounds I've encountered this year. Each artist contributed two originals, then remixed the other artist's tracks. It's gorgeous stuff, proof that the EDM renaissance can't be reduced to big dumb onomatopoeia.

"Spine Waves" is out officially this Friday via the new Ganjaology label, but the whole thing is streaming right this second via Soundcloud. The Columbusrelease partygoes down Thursday at Carabar.
