She's coming for you...

Big news, ladies (and gents with awesomely progressive parents). YOUR CHILDHOOD IS COMING TO EASTON EARLY NEXT SUMMER! SHPLADOW!

American Girl, the monster brand that has been pumping out fictional stories of girls from America's past since 1986, is opening an 11,500-square-foot American Girl store in early summer of 2013. It will be the first and only American Girl store in Ohio.

“Our American Girl stores have been praised as leading models for experiential retail for nearly 14 years, and we’re thrilled to continue this success with our new premium location at Easton Town Center,” said Wade Opland, American Girl’s vice president of retail, in a press release. “The mall’s upscale mix of retail and restaurants is a great fit for our brand and provides us with an amazing opportunity to debut this exciting retail concept to our American Girl fans in the Columbus area, while introducing a whole new audience of girls and families to our brand.”

The store will have American Girl dolls, outfits, accessories, girl-sized clothing and books. There will also be a casual 24-seat bistro, a doll hair salon and a doll-sized T-shirt design studio.

My favorite American Girl was Felicity (Samantha on my rebellious days) and whichever one Tom Petty was singing about.
