First of all, due to a skateboarding injury, the Sleigh Bells/AraabMuzik show at the Newport has been postponed from Oct. 2 to Nov. 8. And Meek Mill's Oct. 13 show at LC Pavilion is cancelled outright — probably due to what looks like a Maybach Music Group tour coming to OSU. (No official announcement yet, just a tease.)
One rapper who's definitely coming to Columbus: Action Bronson, the portly Albanian chef with Ghostface proclivities who seems to be running rap's underground this year. He'll headline Skully's Oct. 12.
Another hip-hop great getting burn with the hipsters this year is OutKast associate Killer Mike, who'll play Ace of Cups on Nov. 9 in support of his blistering new album "R.A.P. Music." (He'll also be in Athens on Nov. 12.)
Speaking of veteran talent playing Ace of Cups, Columbus native Mark Eitzel (of American Music Club fame) will do his thing Nov. 24, which is the Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend and Ohio State-Michigan game day. Tickets cost $13 advance, $15 at the door.
In a pairing of once-dominant radio rock powers, Aerosmith and Cheap Trick will play Nationwide Arena on Nov. 25. Tickets cost $146.50, $86.50 and $46.50, starting 10 a.m. Monday.
Back from obscurity, The Wallflowers will play Newport Music Hall on Nov. 4. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10 a.m. for $22 advance, $25 day of.
Working class metal titans Clutch return to the Newport on Dec. 29, with tickets for the Wallflowers-like price of $22 advance, $25 day of show. They go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday.
Over the Rhine makes their usual holiday-season visit to the Lincoln Theatre on Dec. 14 for the price of $27.50. Tickets on sale 10 a.m. Friday on that one too.
Also coming to the Lincoln: Suzanne Vega on Feb. 19. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday for $24 and $19.
Lastly, jammy party-rockers Bright Light Social Hour, who played Woodlands Tavern this year, will be back in Columbus at The Basement on Oct. 28. This is yet another 10 a.m. Friday on sale. Price: $10 advance, $12 day of.
