Shopping at Country Living Fair and Plato's Closet. Local fashion designers on the runway at Independent's Day. Free yoga on Saturday.
1) Shop this weekend's festivals, Part 1. Tomorrow is Independents' Day downtown. Wahoo! There will be plenty of cool and contemporary local crafters and artists for you to shop. Fashion followers, stop by the Performance Arts Stage at 8 p.m.; local designers will show some of their looks and Lindsay Hearts will premiere her Midnight Lady collection for Columbus audiences (New Yorkers already saw it at Fashion Week!). During the day there will also be a Crafty Death Match competition, T-shirt deconstruction workshops, a 15-minute makeover and photobooth area and a fashion MacGyver showdown. See the full schedule here. 2) Shop this weekend's festival's, Part Two. For those with a more traditional Americana taste, try Country Living Fair at Ohio Village in the Ohio History Center. The fair, sponsored by Country Living magazine, features rows upon rows of the state's best arts, crafts and food sure to make your country side do-si-do. Per-day entry is $16 but weekend passes are available. The fair runs from 10 a.m. through 5 p.m. today through Sunday. 3) Snag some fall deals. Consignment store Plato's Closet, which has myriad locations around town, is having a sale today through Sept. 17 that is perfect for this fall weather. Buy one long-sleeved top, get one 50 percent off. 3) Take a free yoga class. Sign this waiver, bring a mat and do some Vinyasa flow yoga in the open air from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Columbus Commons. Zumba (pictured) is right after until 11 a.m. Before you go, make this T-shirt.
