Spin reports that Sinkane, the project of Columbus expat Ahmed Gallab (and a Band to Watch many moons ago), has signed with DFA, the record label helmed by LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy. His DFA debut, "Mars," is coming Oct. 23.

Gallab tweeted the news today, along with a quote: "I'm the newest member of the DFA team and I'ma make this homie Murphy mad more C.R.E.A.M."

As explained in my Sinkane feature from May, Gallab spent the past five years playing as a sideman in world-famous indie bands like Caribou, Of Montreal and Yeasayer, and his new album features guest appearances by Twin Shadow's George Lewis, Yeasayer's Ira Wolf Tuton and more.

As you tremble with excitement for "Mars," rock out to "Runnin'," one of the best singles of 2012.
