“There should be a place where only the things you want to happen, happen” - Maurice Sendak, "Where the Wild Things Are"

Cincinnati native Ill Poetic has been based in Columbus for a minute. He already released one clip from his upcoming EP, "Synesthesia: The Yellow Movement." Today, Alive has the privilege of premiering the second. Based on a sample from Flying Lotus' "Infinitum," "Numb" is a jazzy dream of a track that floats along on little more than eerie background vocals and woozy synths. Ill Po spins some earnest, sighing verses that ought to appeal to fans of Atmosphere and Macklemore.

Download "Numb" at Bandcamp. Ill Po and his band will perform lots of material from the EP at this Friday's installment of Buggin' Out at Carabar, and a release show for the project is scheduled for Oct. 26. at The Troubadour. "Synesthesia" drops Oct. 16 via Definition Music/Empire Distribution.

Without further ado, here's the video, produced and directed by Ill Po and David Damen. Enjoy!
